Hi All,

It’s been a little while. I’ve missed you.

First off, two big shows in the Fox Valley…

JACKSON STREET POLECATS!
Friday, March 24th / 5:00pm
Wheel and Sprocket (bike store)
Oshkosh, WI
This is a big party for Wheel and Sprocket bikes. They wanted to hire the Polecats and we said “heck yes!” We’re going to play all-acoustic for this. I mean no amplification whatsoever. Should be lots of fun. If you want to hear the Polecats all stripped down, I highly recommend this.

ANDREW JOHNSON CD RELEASE

I’ll be playing a solo set at Andrew(of Happy)’s release party for his new solo project, Holly and Plastic. There will be scads of great performers including Andrew (of course), Jeff from the Catastrophe, Jeremy from Ripp Winkler, Aaron Baer (Polecats), Steve Mccabe and Erik Van Thiel (the Willis), Steve Trier, Southerly, Mike Siddall, and more. This is a party. A BYO party. There’s going to be vegetarian chili and Andy’s CDs. Go to http://www.doubleplusgoodrecords.com/ to hear Andrew’s song, “This Particular Giant Today”.

So there’s that and then also there is that recording and mixing on my new CD, “Batteries and Blankets” is now complete. Steve Mccabe and Mark Powers turned in some wonderful performances on the disc, which was recorded at Topsoil in Oshkosh by Smart Studios’ Justin Perkins. I’ll be posting MP3s from the record really soon and am booking shows for the Midwest release tour in April and NW USA tour in May. I’ll send more complete details later but the shows so far are…

Polecats at DORKFEST 2005!!!

DORKFEST 2005 is going to rule. The lineup will include the JACKSON STREET POLECATS, HAPPY, and THE LEMURS (maybe THE WILLIS will play too. i dont know). This should be lots of fun. Happy is a great rock band. The Lemurs are a punk rock cover band. I haven’t seen them play but knowing the people involved, it will rule. I can only hope that they play a couple songs by Lemur guitarist Jason Baer’s band FANGED HORSE. Fanged Horse is frickin awesome.

Jackson Street Polecats Destroy Decorah!

The Polecats (minus bass-player Nate for this show. Curses upon him! He will pay! Wauhhh ha hauughh!!!) are a ukulele destructor force bent on obliteration of your mind. Me and Aaron “acorn-face�? Baer are going to bring it on at Sabor Latino in Decorah, IA. You better watch yourself! I’m not joking around with you! Just watch it buster!

Solo at the Green Lantern w/ Dr. Bob’s Puppet Cabaret

For fans of the odd end of my music, this is the show to see. The Green Lantern’s proprietor, Dr. Bob, has requested a wierd, artsy, edgy show and I intend to deliver. Expect lots of sampling, pitch-shifting, and a psychedelic mind-drill grinding into the very core of existence. I will probably also play the ukulele.
