Dr. Kickbutt rides again!!

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Everybody. Hello.

I am about to tell you something. Please be attentive.

Everyone. I, Jeff Mitchell, am announcing to you that I will be, once again, joining forces with…

Saturday, Dec. 10th!!! at 8:00!!!! PM!!!!!
at the world famous and almost spectacular NEW MOON CAFE!!!!
(in beautiful Oshkosh, Wisconsin)

Sunday!!! Dec. 11th!!! at 3:00 PM which I suppose is a more sober hour for more respectable people.
at Oshkosh’s WEBSTER!!! STANLEY!!! SCHOOL!!!!! (on Hazel Street by the park)
This is a benefit for the music program at Webster Stanley so come on out unless you hate music in which case you are a jerk.

Dr. Kickbutt will entertain you! You will receive verifiable benefits from this show. You will be smarter when you leave and more excited and you will be more pretty and/or handsome and you will be rich beyond your wildest dreams and the desires of your heart will come to fruition in a manner more beautiful and richly compelling than you could have imagined.

I will be featured in the Orchestra in my capacity as a musical-sawist and baritone-ukuleleist and person-entertainerist but I will be totally subservient to Dr. Kickbutt as all members of his Orchestra must be.

With a mixture of excitement and trepidation I am telling you that I’m going to be recording a new solo album at the end of December. This has been in the works for a long, long time, since oh, say, 1998 when I put out my last full length solo album, “Wanderlust, Women, and Death”. Justin Perkins of Topsoil Studio in Oshkosh (as well as Simple Studios in Green Bay and Smart Studios in Madison) will be engineering. Steve McCabe (of The Willis, Dr. Kickbutt, Incandenza, Congratulations On Your Descision To Become A Pilot, etc.) will be doing what a bass player usually does in these situations except I don’t think he’s going to play the bass. Mark Powers (Jazz Orgy, Dr. Kickbutt, too many projects to even think about and most organized musician I know) is the person who will play the drums or things similar to drums. Please wish us luck.

I’m planning on releasing this sucker some time in February. If you’re on this list, odds are good that I’ll be playing a show in your town in the near future as soon as the album’s out as I intend to tour like a true wild person would tour. I’m self-promoting this thing, so if you know of venues I should play, great radio stations and publications (the kind that support and/or skewer independent and regional artists) or just have any helpful hints, please send me an email. Thanks so much to all of you for your support, friendship in many cases, and/or morbid curiosity. I just want to give you a big kiss you big lug you!

Hope you’re all having a fine night. It’s snowy and beautiful here in Decorah, Iowa.

all the best, Jeff
