Polecats in Oshkosh Dec 16, Decorah show?, I live in a volcano…

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

Hello everybody.

I’ve told a few people this, but I really feel that it’s time everyone should know the truth.

I live in a volcano.

Mind you, the volcano imploded years ago. The collapse of the volcano left a circular ridge of mountains which geologists call a “ring dyke”. The particular volcano that I live in created the most perfectly circular ring dyke on the whole planet. Not that I’m bragging or anything. I just want you to know the truth about me so we can be open with each other.

Some more truth…
Last night I had a dream that me and my girlfriend were house-sitting for Janet, the executive director of the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum in beautiful Decorah, Iowa. There was a fish pond out in her yard and I caught this huge trout with my bare hands. Just grabbed it out of the water. I also dreamt that I saw a skunk in her compost pile. Portentous, I think, that skunk. Makes me want to share with you some news about the…

JACKSON STREET POLECATS!!!! (super ukulele fighter band that I am a member of)
are playing a CONCERT!
on DECEMBER 16TH!!!!

Hopefully I or the Polecats (which includes me) will play in Decorah, IA around that same time. So that’s all I have to say.

Dover, NH and January Polecat tour?

Sunday, November 5th, 2006

Hey all,

Thanks for all the emails from back in the Midwest. Miss you guys. I’m also welcoming the first couple of East Coasters onto the mailing list. Had a fun show in Burlington, VT at Radio Bean as part of a showcase there and saw more “one man, electric guitar and kick-drum” performers in one night than I thought possible. And I used to think I was so cool… Anyhow, heard some amazing musicians that night and also ate some very good egg rolls.

Coming in November, I’ll be playing at…

Dos Amigos
Dover, NH
Friday, Nov. 17, 9PM

It’s a free show and Beth at the Dos said she’s going to get someone local to open so I’m excited to hear who she come’s up with.

Other than that, I’m busy tidying up and moving in to my new studio (I’ll try to post some pics soon) and exchanging phone messages with Aaron Baer (the ukuleleist of our Oshkosh, WI jug band, the JACKSON STREET POLECATS). Apparently, the Polecats are likely to tour New England some time in January. If you’re Polecat curious, go to Otherwise, just google us since we are the most famous jug band from Oshkosh, WI in existence today. Also, I might be playing some shows in the Midwest right before X-mas. I promise to keep you informed.
